A Mitten Tree is Growing in CAHS

"Sarah, who is an elderly woman living alone, notices that a young boy cannot play in the snow with the other kids because he does not have any mittens. Sarah, then finds some yarn and knits the young boy a pair of mittens and placed them on the tree near his bus stop for him to find the next morning. Somehow the young boy knew the mittens belonged to him. The next beneficiary was a girl who had some mismatched mittens and so forth, Sarah, then uses all of her yarn and places mittens of all shapes, colors, patterns, and sizes on the tree benefiting the children in her town. No one notices her watching through the window enjoying the smiles on all of children's faces as the recipient of each pair of mittens." -The Mitten Tree by Candace Christiansen
