Harold J. Betters graduated from CAHS in 1947, and was born here in Connellsville on March 21st, 1928. Betters is famous all around the globe for his work with music. He has managed a career in music for over half of a century. He has performed alongside music giants such as Louis Armstrong, Al Hirt, Slide Hampton, Ramsey Lewis, and Ray Charles. Betters has also appeared on national television a number of times which include the "Merv Griffin Show" and the "Mike Douglas Show". He also took part playing at many Pittsburgh Steelers football games. He was also selected as "Man of the Year in Music" by the Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce. According to the Erie Times-News, "Nobody's better than Betters".
