Color Guard Tryouts!

Color Guard is a combination of the use of flags, sabers, mock rifles, and other equipment, as well as dance and other interpretive movement. 

Our Color Guard competes with other schools and performs during half-time at the football games and at pep rallies.

Open To All Students - No Experience Required

Tryouts will be held on Saturday, May 12th from 10:00am - 2:00pm

(Please be on time. Teaching the tryout routine will start promptly at 10:00 am)

From 10:00am - 11:30am: Tryout routine will be taught and then at 11:30am will be tryouts and call backs.

Please wear sneakers or dance appropriate footwear and clothes that you can move in!

Requirements:

• Candidates will be asked to learn a short routine (2 minutes or less) in the given time and march while doing basic maneuvers.

• Candidates should also bring an information sheet listing their name, grade, relevant experience, and equipment preferences

Events that candidates are required to be available for: 

• Color Guard Camp: June 18th-21st from 4:00pm - 8:00pm

• Band Camp: August 6th-17th from 8:00am - 4:00pm

*All candidates will be ranked using a preset rubric. Any ties in scoring will be up to the discretion of the Color Guard Instructor and Band Director. All placements are final.
