Interview with Michaela Coughenour!

As the end of the track season nears I decided to sit down with one of the senior captains of the Girls' Track Team. Her name is Michaela Coughenour! 18 year-old Michaela is the daughter of Michael and Amy Coughenour of Bullskin Township, PA. In high school, she has excelled as an athlete, playing basketball for 2 years, running cross country for 3 years, and running on the track team for 4 years. What a woman! While interviewing her she gave her point of view on the season, advice for teammates, and more.  Catch the full interview below!

Annie: Hello, Michaela, thank you for joining me today.
Michaela: Thank you for having me. What's up?
Annie: If you don't mind I'd like to ask you some questions regarding the track team.
Michaela: Sure.
Annie: Okay, thanks.

Q1: What is your opinion on how the track season for both the boys' and girls' teams has gone this year?

Answer: I feel that the track season has gone very well for both teams. As these teams are mostly made of young athletes the stats they are putting up are quite remarkable. The Boys' Team is especially impressive as they won counties. Love them!

Annie: Very nice! Next question.

Q2: How did you contribute to the success of the girls' team?

Michaela's Answer:  Well Annie, as a runner I participated in the mile run and the 800 meter event. Through these events I feel that my team benefitted through my endurance, my training, and my discipline. Also, as a senior I feel that I served as a role model to the fresh members of the team.

Annie: Aww how sweet! Moving on.

Q3: Do you have a favorite memory from track? If so, tell me about it.

Michaela's Answer: Of course I have a favorite memory from track! After all, for the past four years it's practically been my life. Overall, I consider practices with my girls through town to be my favorite memory. During these practices I learned a lot about them and they learned a lot about me. In my book we'll always be friends.

Annie/Q4: Isn't that sweet? Now, since your season is over and you're graduating soon what do you see in your future?

Michaela's Answer: Well, at the moment I'm committed to WCCC to major in Environmental Science/Conservation. We will see where that gets me. Later on, I'll get married and probably buy a fish. No matter where life takes me though, running will always be a part of my life.

Annie/Q5: Interesting. To conclude our interview I'd like to ask if you have any advice for teammates or future members of the track team.

Michaela's Answer: No.

Annie: Okay, that works. Have a nice day and good luck!
Michaela: Thank you woman.
